Federal Air Transport Agency unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines for the period from January to May 2015.
According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 79 298 671,47 thousand revenue passenger-kilometers, (-7.1% year-on-year). The cargo turnover was 2 196 229,68 thousand revenue ton-kilometers (+13.3%). During the accounting period (January-May 2015) Russian carriers have transported 31 391 743 passengers (-1.2% year-on-year). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 417 214,4 tons (+6.3%). The passenger load factor was 75.8% and the commercial load factor was 64%.
As for the May statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 8 026 392 passengers (+1.2%) and 92 932,96 tons of cargo and mail (+7.6%).
The top-5 carriers in terms of passenger traffic in January-May 2015 are as follows: Aeroflot transported 9 592 071 passengers (+8.6% year-on-year), Transaero - 4 261 079 passengers (-1.3%), Siberia - 2 834 542 passengers (-2%), UTair Aviation - 1 902 364 passengers (-37.3%), Rossiya - 1 874 724 (+15,9%). These five carriers have transported a total of 20 464 780 passengers (-1.1%) during 5 months of 2015, which is equal to 65.2% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
The five leading airlines in terms of cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 240 115,4 tons of cargo and mail (+19.6% year-on-year), Aeroflot – 53 714,2 tons of cargo and mail (-4.3%), Transaero - 19480 tons of cargo and mail (-25.2%), Volga-Dnepr – 14 579,5 tons of cargo and mail -2.5%), Siberia - 11 383 tons of cargo and mail (-22.4%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 339 272 tons of cargo and mail (+8.5%) during 5 months of 2015, which is equal to 81.3% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
