The new Mi-38 helicopter will be presented at MAKS-2015 airshow to be held in Zhukovsky (Moscow Region) during the period from August 25th to August 30th 2015, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports with reference to press-service of Kazan Helicopters.

Mi-38 medium helicopter was developed by Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant. It is powered by Russian-produced fuel-efficient TV7-117V engines and fitted with an integrated avionics suite, which includes five LCDs. The Kazan-based enterprise has already started assembly of production Mi-38s; the first one will be delivered to the customer in the first quarter of 2016.

Last autumn Russian Helicopters Holding Company started the final stage of Mi-38’s certification testing. Two prototypes are involved in the test program. In accordance with the state contract the type certificate should be obtained in December 2015; in fact, it may be obtained earlier - prior to the opening of MAKS-2015 airshow.

Mi-38 is one of the world’s most automated civil helicopters: digital navigation system and other components of its avionics suite allow performing automatic flight in accordance with a given route, landing the helicopter, carrying out automatic hovering and stabilization of the vehicle in all flight regimes. The helicopter may be used for transporting cargo or passengers, may take part in search-and-rescue operations and can be used as a flying hospital

Mi-38 may be operated under various conditions – from tropical to cold climate.

Russian Helicopters believe that the regional aviation may be interested in this vehicle. Its ease of operation, fuel efficiency and long service life make Mi-38 more profitable compared to general aviation aircraft operated in Russia.
