Russian Ministry of Defense reinforced its military grouping in Sakhalin with Su-30SM fighters, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the head of the press-service of Eastern Military District (EMD), Colonel Alexander Gordeev.
“The major goal of relocating the fighters is increasing the combat readiness of fighter pilots by means of performing flights above the island and nearby territories,” he said.
Three fighters performed ferry flight from Dzemgi (Khabarovsk Krai) to Sokol airfield (Sakhalin Region). Pilots will be carrying out a number of training missions in the network of their training program.
