The joint Russian-Chinese leasing company will help expand our cooperation both in China and the whole region, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said.

We remind you that representatives of Russia and China signed an agreement for establishing a new leasing company in the presence of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the President of People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping. The company will be responsible for sales of SSJ 100 aircraft in Asia. Over the next three years about 100 SSJ 100 liners worth $3 billion should be sold in China and other countries of the region. Russian-Chinese Investment Fund (RCIF), Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), government of Shanxi province (China) and New Century International Leasing (NCILС, CHINA) signed the agreement. The joint company will be based in Russian-Chinese tech park in Xixian city.

«Today we are starting to unlock the potential of our relationship with China in the area of civil aircraft industry. We already have some joint technological projects, including development of a wide-body long-haul aircraft and a heavy helicopter. Now we may talk about cooperation aimed at selling aircraft. The joint Russian-Chinese leasing company will help expand our cooperation both in China and the whole region, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said. – The global fleet of Sukhoi SuperJet 100 aircraft will double thanks to sales of this jet in China. It will pave the way for promotion of this airliner in other countries and will contribute to implementation of plans related to increase of trade turnover between Russia and China to $200 billion by 2020. In this regard the signed agreement is the example of investment and technological cooperation, which brings our partnership in the area of industrial technologies to a new level».

According to analytics, the Russian jet will enter market simultaneously with the steep increase of a number of private airlines and low-cost carriers in the country. According to experts, this segment will be the driver of the country’s air transportation market, and the Russian airliner may be in demand exactly in this segment. UAC (comprises SCAC, which manufactures SSJ 100 jets) said that, taking into account good economics of the aircraft and competitive lease rates, the cost of ownership for SSJ 100 will be 20% lower compared to its rivals.

SSJ 100 differs from its rivals in the 100-seat class because it offers lower weight, more spacious cabin and lower fuel consumption.
