Transaero is going to take delivery of two Вoeing 737NG and four Аirbus А321 aircraft in 2015 in the network of the carrier’s fleet renewal program, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Transaero CEO Olga Pleshakova.
“In accordance with the program, this year we are going to take delivery of two Вoeing 737NG and four Аirbus А321. These jets will help us optimize our fleet after the summer season and put five Вoeing 737 airliners out of operation,” Pleshakova said.
She noted that the airline is going to put two В747-400 aircraft out of operation over the next two months and one В767 jet – in the end of summer. “Now the balance has shifted into direction of medium-haul routes. We are responding to the market situation in order to lower operating costs,” she said.
As of May 25th 2015 Transaero’s fleet comprised 104 aircraft; five of them were manufactured in Russia (Tu-204 and Tu-214).
