In April 2016 Russia will open an MRO center responsible for maintenance of “Mi” helicopters in Peru, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Rosoboronexport Deputy CEO Sergey Ladigin.
A contract for delivery of 24 Russian-produced Mi-171Sh helicopters to Peru was signed in December 2013. The value of this contract is around $400 million; the first batch was delivered to the customer in December 2014.
“The contract is on schedule. The opening of the MRO center is scheduled for April 2016,” Ladigin said. According to him, the center will be opened in the network of an offset agreement signed by Rosoboronexport. “The Peruvian party is responsible for construction; the Russian party – for technological part and personnel training,” Ladigin explained.
According to Rostec State Corporation (comprises manufacturer of “Mi” helicopters), at present 132 pilots and technicians (future employees of this MRO center) are being trained.
