NPO Saturn will hold talks about the SaM146 program at MAKS-2015

Specialists at NPO Saturn, which is part of United Engine Corporation (UEC), will hold talks about the SaM146 program at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2015.

The company intends to hold several meetings with existing and potential customers, as well as with partners from the French aerospace company Snecma, which since December 2004 has been helping to develop the SaM146 project. The SaM146 engine will be on display at MAKS-2015 as part of the United Engine Corporation exposition, reported AviaPort.

SaM146 turbofan bypass engines are used to power the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. This is the first Russian-developed engine to receive an EASA certificate. Russian and foreign airlines, including Aeroflot - Russian Airlines, Gazpromavia, Center-South, Red Wings, Yakutia, and the Mexican airline InterJet, operate SSJ 100 aircraft with these engines. NPO Saturn is confident that, in terms of reliability, the engines comply with all international requirements.

During MAKS-2013, Saturn signed agreements with Russian and foreign partners, including a package of agreements for international cooperation of Russian Federation aerospace clusters and the creation of a Eurasian Partnership for aerospace clusters. At the time, Saturn became partners in the Saxony economic union in the fields of aviation, aerospace, and mechanical engineering.

The 12th International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2015 will be take place August 25-30 2015 at the Russia Transport Exhibition Complex in the town of Zhukovsky. Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade is organizing the event.

United Engine Corporation (UEC) features an integrated structure and produces engines for military and civil aviation, as well as the space program. UEC oversees the installation of various power capacities for the production of electricity and thermal energy, as well as gas compressor and ship turbine units. UEC is part of Rostec Corporation.
