Perm Engine Company (PEC) is going to manufacture a pilot batch of five PD-14 engines in 2015, the enterprise reports. These engines will take part in the test program, including flight testing onboard a flying testbed, Kommersant reports.

In addition, in 2015 PEC is going to manufacture 34 PS-90 engines (21 ones in 2014) and 66 gas turbine power plants derived from PS-90 engines (58 ones in 2014). Thus output of PS-90 engines may increase 1,6 times in 2015 and output of gas turbine power plants – by 14%.

PD-14 engine is being developed in the network of a project for development of the family of aircraft engines having a thrust from 12,5 to 18 tons; the engines are intended for passenger and transport aircraft, including MS-21 jet, which is being developed by Irkut Corporation. Avaidvigatel (Perm) is responsible for development of PD-14 engine and PEC – for its mass production.

Deliveries of PD-14 engines should be started in 2016. Flight testing of PD-14 onboard Il-76 flying testbed is set to begin in June 2015.

Perm Engine Company manufactures engines for civil and military aircraft, gas turbine power plants for power stations and gas compressor stations. United Engine Corporation (subsidiary of Oboronprom Corporation, which owns 100% of its shares) responsible for managing engine-building assets owns 100% of the PEC’s shares.
