Irkut Corporation is ready to fill the “gap” in India’s tender for delivery of fighters to the national air forces by means of delivering Su-30MKI fighters, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the head of Regional Marketing Department of Irkut Corporation, Viktor Lichaev.
Dassault Aviation (France) won the tender for delivery of 126 fighters to Indian air forces. However, the parties have only signed a contract for delivery of 36 Rafale jets.
“We are ready to fill this gap by means of delivering Su-30MKI fighters to the customer. At that we may deliver fighters as a “final product” or the jets may be assembled in India under license,” Lichaev said.
According to him, the talks between India and Russia are in progress.
