On April 30th 2015 Sergey Velmozhkin was appointed CEO of Ilyushin Company (part of United Aircraft Corporation). At the same time the Board of Directors of Ilyushin Company terminated the powers of former CEO Sergey Sergeev, UAC’s press-service reports.
“Sergey Velmozhkin graduated from Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics (former Moscow Institute of National Economy named after G.V. Plekhanov). Since 2005 he was one of top-managers of Ilyushin Company, and from 2011 to 2014 he was the CEO of “UAC – Transport Aircraft,” said in the statement.
The primary objectives of the new CEO are: further development of transport and other programs of UAC, implemented by Ilyushin Design Bureau, and fulfillment of State Defense Order.
“Ilyushin Aviation Complex” (Ilyushin Comapny) is part of UAC. It carries out works related to development, upgrade, testing, preparation and support of mass production of aircraft, as well as provision of continued airworthiness of Ilyushin aircraft manufactured earlier,” UAC noted.
