S7: at least two persons must be present inside the cockpit during flight

During flight at least two persons must be present inside the cockpit of an aircraft operated by S7 Airlines, the carrier’s press-service reports.

«In accordance with the airline’s rules, during flight one pilot may leave the cockpit only after a chief steward enters the cockpit and takes a special folding seat,» S7 noted.

We remind you that information recovered from flight data recorder of crashed Germanwings Airbus A320 showed that the crash was caused by intentional actions of the co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, a 28-year-old German citizen. Investigators believe that he locked the cockpit to prevent the captain from returning before the crash, and started descending. As a result the airliner crashed into a mountain.

Airbus A320 passenger aircraft performing flight from Barcelona to Dusseldorf crashed on March 24th 2015 in the Southeast of France. The crash happened near Digne-les-Bains mountainous region. According to Germanwings, the contact with the aircraft was lost at 10:53 (12:53 Moscow time) at an altitude of around 1800 meters.

The liner carried 150 persons: 144 passengers and 6 crew members. Most of them were citizens of Germany and Spain. According to French authorities, citizens of Australia, Argentina, Belgium, UK, Denmark, Kazakhstan, Columbia, Mexico, USA and Japan were also onboard.
