State Commission named the members of the crew of Soyuz TMA-16M manned transport spacecraft

The meeting of a state commission for flight testing of manned spacecraft chaired by I.A. Komarov was held at Baikonur cosmodrome, press-service of the Federal Space Agency reports.

Following the results of training of the main and backup crews of Soyuz TMA-16M manned transport spacecraft, the state commission approved the following roster:

Main crew: Gennady Padalka – commander of Soyuz TMA-16M (Roscosmos); Mikhail Kornienko – flight engineer-1 of Soyuz TMA-16M (Roscosmos); Scott Kelly - flight engineer-2 of Soyuz TMA-16M (NASA).

Backup crew: Alexey Ovchinin - commander of Soyuz TMA-16M (Roscosmos); Sergey Volkov – flight engineer-1 of Soyuz TMA-16M (Roscosmos); Jeffery Williams - flight engineer-2 of Soyuz TMA-16M (NASA).

“Soyuz TMA-16M spacecraft was launched from Baikonur cosmodrome (launch site 1) on March 27^th 2015 at 22:42 (Moscow time),” Roscosmos added.
