The joint project of Russia and China for development of a wide-body aircraft is valued at 80 billion rubles, TASS reports with reference to Dmitry Rogozin. “A lot of money. At least 80 billion rubles,” he said answering the question about the cost of the project.

As for source of finance, Rogozin supposed that Vnesheconombank might finance the project. “We will finance this project not necessarily from the budget, - Deputy Chairman of the Russian government noted. – We may use a credit provided by Vnesheconombank in order to implement this project”.

Rogozin assured that despite a decision made by Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade to make changes in the Federal Target Program (related to civil aviation sector) and remove the financing of this project for 2015 from the budget, “we are not going to reconsider it, the project is part of our plans”.

It was planned to allocate 1,489 billion rubles from the federal budget and 2,5 billion rubles of non-budgetary investments for implementation of Aircraft-2020 project. However, later it was decided to cut off the budgetary financing of this project. At the same time in January 2015 United Aircraft Corporation announced several orders placed in the network of Aircraft-2020 project.

The wide-body aircraft developed in cooperation with China on a parity basis should be ready in 2021. Its certification is scheduled for 2023-2024; the jet’s mass production will be started in 2025. The preliminary design stage should be completed in July 2015.
