Russian Ministry of Defense is satisfied with reliability of Yak-130 operational trainers and it is ready to consider the possibility of signing new contracts, Deputy Minister of Defense Yuri Borisov told RIA Novosti.
“Dispatch reliability of this aircraft type is over 80%. The MRO services are provided on time,” Borisov said during his visit to Irkutsk Aviation Plant (manufactures Yak-130 jets).
According to him, proper after-sales support is a top-priority condition for signing new contracts with Russian Ministry of Defense. The ministry and the enterprise agreed to sign new contracts for delivery of Yak-130 jets provided that “this condition is met”, Borisov added.
Yak-130 is designed for training of future pilots of fourth- and fifth-generation aircraft. It is fitted with integrated digital control system, which provides manual and automatic flight control. The jet is also equipped with active flight safety system, which allows changing parameters of the jet’s stability and controllability during training.
This year Irkutsk Aviation Plant will deliver 12 Yak-130 jets to Russian air forces.
