Specialists of the Northern Fleet have tested Tahcyon UAV designed to carry out air surveillance and detect small low-signature objects at a shore, in or under water, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press-service of the Northern fleet.

“The tests were carried out in bays located at the coast of the Kola Peninsula. First of all, they assessed the Tachyon’s ability to detect combat swimmers and delivery vehicles as well as maneuverable bases of raiding parties, hidden ambushes and secrets under any lighting conditions using night vision systems,” said in the statement.

Tachyon is designed for air surveillance under any lighting conditions and has a range of 40 km. It is able to work under severe conditions. It may be successfully controlled under conditions of wind speed up to 15 meters per second.
