France to take part in upgrade of Sukhoi SuperJet 100

French enterprises will participate in a project for upgrading the Russian passenger aircraft Sukhoi SuperJet 100, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Emeric d'Arcimoles, President of Le Bourget airshow.

“We are taking part in upgrade of the Russian aircraft industry. And we have a joint project for upgrading Sukhoi SuperJet 100 jets,” he said.

Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ 100) is the Russian short-haul passenger aircraft. The liner performed its maiden flight in May 2008; it was put into operation in 2011. Aeroflot is the largest operator of SSJ 100 aircraft.

So far SSJ 100 has been certified of AR IAC, EASA, Mexican, Lao and Indonesian aviation authorities. The liner is able to carry up to 98 passengers; its range is 4,400 km.
