Viktor Kladov, head of Rostec’s International Cooperation Department, explained that the corporation has no plans to reduce its exhibition activities around the world, but also seeks to maximize its ability to demonstrate products at forums held in Russia.
According to Kladov, Rostec has a schedule of exhibitions that was formulated and approved by the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC). Every year the schedule includes 20 international forums and 20 exhibitions in Russia.
“It’s a busy schedule of exhibitions. Expanding it does not make sense, nor does cutting back. We are reemphasizing our interest in being involved in major weapons shows on all continents, such as Indo Defence and LIMA in the Asia-Pacific Region, as well as Airshow China and Aero India, which are also in Asia, and represent our interests,” said Viktor Kladov in an interview with RIA Novosti.
As the Rostec representative noted, in recent years, the company sought to show a maximum number of its developments at domestic exhibitions: “It's one thing to spend a lot of money per unit abroad, and another thing when a client comes to MAKS, and we say, if you need technology, please consult the Air Force, please get help from pilots. This is not a question. Therefore, clients who are seriously interested in business come to MAKS in Moscow or a forum in St. Petersburg or Tagil.”
This year, Rostec is supporting the exhibition Army-2015, organized at the initiative of Ministry of Defense Sergei Shoigu. The forum will be near Kubinka, which has a museum of armored troops. “We will show how industry is working for the Russian Army,” said Viktor Kladov.
The head of Rostec’s International Cooperation Department said the corporation absolutely will participate in the Le Bourget air show. FSMTC has already decided that Rostec will participate in and lead the Russian delegation to Farnborough-2016. Due to the termination of military-technical cooperation with foreign countries, the Russian exhibition will present mainly civilian products, such as Sukhoi Superjet, MS-21, and the Ka-62 helicopter.
