Throughout 2014, more than 1,000 Russian and foreign flight specialists and engineering personnel completed training at aviation training centers of Rostec Corporation’s holding company Russian Helicopters. Training took place at aviation centers located in Kazan, Ulan-Ude, Rostov-on-Don, Novosibirsk, and in the Moscow region.

Russian aircraft crews from the Emergencies Ministry, Interior Ministry, and Federal Security Service, as well as crews of the holding company’s foreign partners, underwent training to maintain their professional certifications. Representatives from the Republic of Korea, Peru, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other countries participated in the training in 2014.

Aircraft centers of the holding’s manufacturing enterprises located in Kazan, Ulan-Ude, Rostov-on-Don, Novosibirsk, and the Moscow region, met all requirements for training flight crews and earned high praise from both Russian and foreign pilots and engineers.

The Aviation Training Center of Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant trained more than 200 pilots and technicians on the Mi-8AMT and Mi-171 helicopters, which are now commercially available. The training center is equipped with a simulator for the Mi-8AMT and Mi-171 and specializes in the retraining and advanced training of pilots and technical staff. The center facilitates a full cycle of training.

In addition, work is underway in Ulan-Ude to create a new simulator for the Mi-171A2 helicopter. The simulator will allow the training and retraining crews to begin almost simultaneously with the launch of the helicopter’s serial production.

Similar principles of comprehensive training have been implemented at the Aviation Training Center of Kazan Helicopters, where 577 professionals received training in 2014. The center provides a full cycle of services for training customers’ aircraft crews, including theoretical, simulator, and flight training. The center is equipped with a modern integrated simulator for the Mi-8MTV helicopter. The training center specializes in training flight crews and technical staff on the Mi-8MTV, Mi-17-1V, Mi-17V-5, MI-172 and ANSAT helicopter models, which are commercially available at Kazan Helicopters.

In 2014, the training center of the plant certified its teaching staff and received a certificate from the Czech company PBS Velka Bites for training specialists based on the program, “Design, operation and maintenance of the APU Safir 5 K/G Mi.”

Rostvertol Aviation Training Center (Rostov-on-Don) trained about 300 people, including representatives of foreign customers that bought the Mi-26(T) helicopter and the Mi-35M and Mi-28NE Night Hunter combat helicopters.

Kamov Aviation Training Center in Moscow specializes in the training of pilots and technical personnel on Ka-32, Ka-226, and Ka-52 Alligator helicopters. Theoretical training takes place in classrooms equipped with modern technology. Modern teaching materials are widely used in the educational process.

The training center of Novosibirsk Aircraft Repair Plant prepares engineering staff for the maintenance and repair of all types and modifications of the Mi series of helicopters.

During the lessons, automated training systems are widely used. Practical training for repair specialists and the training of technical staff take place in the main production area of the aircraft repair plant.

Russian Helicopters is actively developing training centers at its enterprises to create the most convenient conditions for customers throughout the entire duration of their use of the helicopters.
