Russian private company Lin Industrial is going to showcase a three-meters tall mockup of its Taymir light launch vehicle and combustion chamber of a rocket engine at MAKS-2015 international airshow, TASS reports with reference to the Lin Industrial General Designer Alexander Ilyin.
“We are going to showcase a three-meters tall mockup of Taymir light launch vehicle, control system prototype and a rocket engine developed by our company,” he said.
The abovementioned products will be demonstrated at Skolkovo’s stand, because Lin Industrial is the member of its Space Cluster and it is going to receive a mini-grant from the Skolkovo Foundation in summer in order to continue studies in this area. “So far all the work is being funded by private investors, which are not related to the foundation,” Ilyin noted.
He also added that a mockup of a combustion chamber made of stainless steel should be ready by April 12th 2015 (the Cosmonautics Day). After that the real combustion chamber made of Inconel 718 will be manufactured. “The engine will be tested using test benches of the Moscow Aviation Institute,” the General Designer said.
It was reported earlier that one of creators of the World of Tanks videogame Sergey Burkatovski might invest from 5 to 10 million rubles in Lin Industrial. The funds will be allocated for development and testing of the Taymir light launch vehicle prototype having a thrust of 50 kg. The test launches of the rocket will be carried out at Kapustin Yar firing range.
