Russia and Belarus agreed to sign a contract for delivery of 12 Mi-17 helicopters

Russia and Belarus agreed to sign a contract for delivery of 12 civil Mi-17 helicopters, Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov told journalists answering the question about results of the work of Russian delegation at IDEX-2015 show held in Abu-Dhabi (UAE), RIA Novosti reports.

“As for this show, we and Belarusian party have agreed to sign a contract for delivery of 12 Mi-17 helicopters,” he said.

Mi-17 is a medium multi-role helicopter, export version of Mi-8. Its flexibility and great aircraft performance made Mi-17 one of the most popular Russian helicopters in the world.

IDEX-2015 international defense exhibition and conference is held in Abu Dhabi (UAE); over 1000 companies from 52 countries are taking part in the show. Russian defense products (737 items, 100 of them are weapons and combat vehicles) are showcased by 21 companies, including nine subjects of military-technical cooperation: Rosoboronexport, Research and Production Corporation Uralvagonzavod, PVO Almaz-Antey Concern, KBP, NPO SPLAV, NPO Bazalt, etc. The show closed on February 26^th 2015.
