Ilyushin Company is going to complete development of Il-112V light military-transport aircraft by 2020, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Deputy Director General on Program Management of Ilyushin Company, Sergey Artyukhov.
“The development should be completed by 2020,” Artyukhov said.
The contract with Russian Ministry of Defense for development of the aircraft was signed in December 2014. At present the development of design documentation is being completed; VASO is starting preparation for launching production of the turboprop.
In December Ilyushin Company reported that the first two Il-112V prototypes would be manufactured in 2016; they will be used for testing. The aircraft’s maiden flight is scheduled for the same year. About 30 Russian enterprises and around 50 suppliers will be involved in development of Il-112V.
Il-112V is designed for transportation, airlift delivery and paradrop of light combat vehicles and weapons, cargo and troopers as well as commercial cargo transportation.
