Irkut Corporation President Oleg Demchenko congratulated MAI on its 85th anniversary. “Dear friends and colleagues, on behalf of Irkut Corporation, I would like to congratulate all the lecturers and employees of Moscow Aviation Institute, students and graduates on the 85th anniversary of the institute,” said in the statement.
“MAI and its graduates made a significant contribution to development of the national aircraft industry and other high-tech industries, which can hardly be overestimated. Most of the aircraft operated today were developed under supervision and with the participation of MAI graduates. At present the institute is the only educational institution in Russia to train high-skilled specialists for aircraft, rocket and space industries, which are able to contribute in different areas starting from system engineering to establishment of high-tech production. Today the institute is carrying out fundamental and applied studies in different areas. Institute has state-of-the-art equipment and unique infrastructure and it has earned its right to be one of the national research universities,” said in the letter sent by Oleg Demchenko.
The institute’s graduates are working for many famous companies of the Russian aircraft industry, including Irkut Corporation. Almost half of A.S. Yakovlev design bureau’s staff graduated from MAI. I am confident that the number of Irkut Corporation employees, who graduated from MAI, will be increasing. One reason for it is our program for training new generation of aircraft designers and other specialists in MAI. Another reason is the desire of students to participate in implementation of new projects, like development of MS-21 next-generation aircraft. Its development and production is one of the top-priority objectives of our enterprise, he noted.
“From the bottom of my heart I wish MAI further development and well-being, I wish its lecturers new successes in the area of training and scientific research, and I also wish its students to get new useful knowledge and use it in their work, I also wish them good health and well-being,” Demchenko said.
