Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) turned 85 on March 20th 2015. The institute’s history full of events and achievements started in 1930 thanks to active industrialization of the national economy and development of the national aviation.

MAI is the alma mater of many specialists of the national aerospace industry. Over the last 85 years, the institute trained over 160 thousand specialists, which are the “intelligent core” of the national civil and military aviation, rocket and space industry. MAI graduates are among top-managers of different companies.

The 85th anniversary is another page in the history, when one can turn around and see the milestones reached by the institute. Years of lecturers’ efforts, glorious traditions, unique equipment, numerous scientific laboratories and resource centers, own design bureau and airfield, all of this is MAI.

Today the institute enters a new stage of its development in order to continue its success. Events aimed at increasing the prestige of aerospace industry and maintaining the status of one of the Russia’s leading higher education institutions are scheduled for 2015.
