The armed forces of Russia and Serbia will hold a joint military exercise in September 2015. According to Russian Ministry of Defense, the decision was made at a conference with the participation of members of Command of Russian air forces and Serbian air forces held on March 12th 2015 in Moscow, IA REGNUM reports.

«Pilots of tactical aviation and army aviation of Russia and Serbia will take part in the exercise. The pilots will form a combined crews and perform different missions,» said in the statement.

In the network of the military exercise pilots of MiG-29 fighters will intercept air targets, while crews of Mi-8 military-transport helicopters will carry out landing of troops, provide air support to the army, destroy ground targets at a firing range using missiles and will also carry out search-and-rescue operations.

It was reported in late February by Serbian mass-media (with reference to the country’s Ministry of Defense) that despite displeasure about Russian-Serbian military exercise (held last autumn), expressed by EU and USA, Belgrade is going to hold several military exercises in cooperation with Russia over the next few months. We remind you that the first joint military exercise with the participation of armed forces of Russia and Serbia was held on November 14th 2014 at Nikintsi firing range located near Belgrade. Over 400 soldiers and officers took part in the exercise. After that Brussels expressed concern about these military exercises held in the middle of confrontation between Moscow and EU.
