Aeroflot Group (comprises Aeroflot - Russian Airlines, Rossiya – Russian Airlines, Pobeda, Aurora Airlines and Donavia) will take delivery of 152 aircraft (both Russian-produced and foreign-produced ones) over the next three years, said in the carrier’s statement, RIA Novosti reports.
“In 2015-2017 Aeroflot Group is going to take delivery of 152 state-of-the-art aircraft. These are Boeing 777-300, SSJ 100, Boeing 737 and Airbus А320 Family liners,” said in the statement unveiled in late February 2015.
As of January 2015 the carrier’s fleet comprises 150 aircraft (not including 5 Il-96 jets, which were put out of operation).
A source close to Aeroflot told RIA Novosti in late February that the carrier may adjust its fleet renewal and expansion program, in particular, it may change the delivery schedule of long-haul liners. He reminded that the Aeroflot’s subsidiary Orenair decided to put 9 aircraft out of operation recently.
The group’s information demonstrates a significant expansion of Pobeda low-cost carrier’s fleet. “By 2018 the airline’s fleet will comprise around 40 aircraft,” said in the statement. At present Pobeda operates four Boeing 737-800 NG jets (single class cabin layout seating 189 passengers).
