On January 28th 2015 Ural Airlines opened the new aircraft maintenance center at Koltsovo Airport. Senior officials of Ural Region, the carrier’s foreign and Russian partners attended the opening ceremony.

Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvishev congratulated Ural Airlines CEO Sergei Skuratov on successful implementation of this ambitious project: “I’m really happy for Ural Airlines, for Ural Region, for our progress. I congratulate you on this milestone!”

In his own turn Sergei Skuratov thanked the Governor, partners, banks, engineers and the airline’s staff for their assistance and support. “We created this center not only for ourselves, but for the whole Russia. I think it’s the best maintenance center in our country; it is able to carry out the most complex aircraft maintenance checks of Russian and foreign aircraft,” Sergei Skuratov said.

The new aircraft maintenance center was built in place of an old hangar and designed for accommodating 4 A321 liners or 2 A321 jets and 1 wide-body A330 aircraft. Total area of the facility is 8 256 square meters, which is equivalent to a standard football field. Ural Airlines’ center and all of its components (gates, made of independent sections; natural lighting; floors made of Fiber-reinforced concrete; state-of-the-art fire extinguishing system, etc.) are certified by international and Russian aviation authorities. The center was constructed using cutting-edge technologies and innovations; it will allow the carrier to carry out the most complicated maintenance checks previously performed only abroad.
