Federal Air Transport Agency unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines for 2014.
According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 241 429 351,36 revenue passenger kilometers (+7.2% year-on-year). The cargo turnover was 5 151 562,94 thousand revenue ton-kilometers (+2,8% year-on-year). During the accounting period Russian carriers transported 93 181 385 passengers (+10.2% year-on-year). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 1 036 479,18 tons (+3.5%). The passenger load factor was 79,8% and the commercial load factor was 66.9%.
As for the December statistics, the Russian airlines transported 6 279 838 passengers (+6,2%) and 94 559,69 tons of cargo and mail (+4,1%).
The top-5 carriers in terms of passenger traffic in 2014 are as follows: Aeroflot transported 23 610 036 passengers (+13% year-on-year), Transaero - 13 198 591 passengers (+5,6%), UTair Aviation - 8 564 340 passengers (+4.7%), Siberia - 7 938 199 passengers (+12%), Rossiya - Russian Airlines - 5 191 783 passengers (+13.1%). These five carriers have transported a total of 58 502 949 passengers (+9,8%) in 2014, which is equal to 62.8% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
The five leading airlines in terms of cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 516 525 tons of cargo and mail (+21.1% year-on-year), Aeroflot – 145 284,9 tons of cargo and mail (-17.7%), Transaero - 69 332,9 tons of cargo and mail (-0.6%), Volga-Dnepr – 40 655,7 tons of cargo and mail (-24,5%), Siberia - 36 667 tons of cargo and mail (+0.4%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 808 465,4 tons of cargo and mail (+6%) in 2014, which is equal to 78% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
