On December 5, 2015, at 17:09 (MSK), combat crew of the Aerospace Forces has successfully launched a new light-class rocket booster Soyuz-2.1V with spacecraft from the State testing cosmodrome Plesetsk (Arkhangelsk Region) in favour of the Russian Defence Ministry.
The launch was carried out under the leadership of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces - Commander of the Space Forces Lieutenant General Alexander Golovko.
The start was held in normal mode. The spacecraft reached the assigned orbit.
In two minutes after the start, the ground automated control centre of the Main testing space centre named after German Titov took the control over the rocket booster Soyuz-2.1V.
Now the spacecraft "Kosmos-2511" and "Kosmos-2512" maintain strong telemetric connection with the ground centre. They are functioning normally.
In 2015, there have been successfully launched seven space rockets: five Soyuz-2 and two Rokot rocket boosters.
