Yesterday, the new training year started in the Airborne troops. The Pskov formation was defined as the best one of the Airborne in 2015.

During the training year, the Airborne is planned to hold a number of different exercises, including two brigade exercises, three regiment tactic and two command-and-staff division ones with practical landing operations.

One of the division-scale exercises will be bilateral. The joint exercise Interaction-2016 with participation of the Ulyanovsk and Ivanovo Airborne formations is planned to be held in September.

In 2015, the Airborne units and formations participated in more than 400 different exercises and about 2,000 firings.

In August 2015, Ulyanovsk formation participated in the CSTO exercise Interaction-2015. It took place at the territory of Russia. Four Airborne formations took part in the Center-2015 command-and-staff exercise in September.

Moreover, the units conducted landing operations with combat hardware at unfamiliar terrains of Far East and Far North.
