Conclusions on the reasons of the A321 crash in Egypt should be drawn only after interpretation of information retrieved from the flight data recorders, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for anti-terrorism effort, Oleg Siromolotov.
The largest air accident in the history of Russia and USSR happened on Saturday October 31st 2015: Airbus A321 airliner operated by Kogalymavia (works under Metrojet brand), which was performing flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg, crashed in Sinai Peninsula. 217 passengers and 7 members of the crew were onboard, all of them died.
“In this situation I wouldn’t draw any conclusions, because it is too early. Many things will become clear after interpretation of information retrieved from the flight data recorders is complete,” he said.
According to him, Russian standards in the area of flight safety meet the international requirements.
“As for civil aviation, there is the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). It is responsible for development of standards and recommendations in the area of flight safety. There are international standards for the civil aviation, maybe some countries have more or less strict standards, but Russian ones meet all the international requirements,” Siromolotov noted.
