Six Targets One Blow: Cutting-Edge Interceptor Joins Russian Air Force

Russian Aviaton » Friday November 27, 2015 22:36 MSK

The new cutting-edge MiG-31 BM interceptor will join the Russian aerospace force.

The MiG-31 BM will not allow any stealth aircraft, cruise missiles or hypersonic drones to escape. This aircraft is capable of simultaneously striking out six and tracking up to 10 air targets.

The modernization of the MiG-31 BM took place at Nizhny Novgorod’s ‘Sokol’ aviation plant.

The interceptor was installed with sophisticated onboard electronics, radar equipment and a new much more powerful weapon. Test pilots claim that the combat potential of the fighter has been doubled.
