Russian Emergencies Ministry jet airlifts three seriously-ill children from Simferopol to Moscow and Saint Petersburg

A Russian Emergencies Ministry An-148 plane has taken off from Ramenskoye airport for Simferopol to take aboard three seriously-ill children, one of whom is a newborn baby. All of them are in need of urgent high-tech medical aid which they are going to get in hospitals in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

The An-148 is rigged with modern equipment and special medical units, medical ventilation apparatuses and cardiomonitors allowing for providing medical aid to the patients during the flight.

Aboard the plane the patients are going to be accompanied by medical personnel of the Tsentrospas Team, Zashchita Russian Disaster Medicine Center of the Russian Ministry of Health and a psychologist of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

Two of the children are going to be delivered to hospitals in Moscow, one of them – to the Scientific Center of Children’s Health, and another one to A.N. Bakulev Scientific Center of Cardiovascular Surgery. The third child is going to be transported to Saint Petersburg to G.I. Turnev Research Institute for Children’s Orthopedics.
