Austria’s Aid to Russia in A321 Crash Probe Depends on Request Context

Austria’s assistance to Russia in investigating the downing of the A321 passenger jet in Egypt depends on what an official request from the Russian side will look like, a spokesman for the Austrian Foreign Ministry told Sputnik on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, President Vladimir Putin asked the Russian Foreign Ministry to turn to all its partners around the world for assistance in A321 crash probe after the Russian Federal Security Service ruled a terror attack downed the Russian passenger jet.

“… there was no official request from the Russian government side. I would like to limit myself to that and without any speculations on what would be the next concrete steps from our side because it depends, of course, on an official request and a context of such an official request," Thomas Schnoll said.
