S-300 is a brand of missile defense systems designed to engage aerial targets ranging from helicopters to warplanes to cruise or ballistic missiles.
"Combat units have performed practical actions on deploying S-300 air defense systems," Alexander Gordeev said, adding that the exercise involved 300 troops and over 30 units of military, special and aircraft equipment.
The Eastern Military District is one of the four operational strategic commands of the Russian Armed Forces.
