Pobeda low-cost carrier (100%-owned by Aeroflot) may start performing international flights in 1 or 2 months, Interfax reports.
“At present a document allowing carriers, which started performing domestic flights less than 2 years ago (provided that their parent company has the right to perform international flights), to perform international flights is being officially registered by the Ministry of Justice of Russian Federation. The procedure should be completed in 1 or 2 months. The document will come into effect in 10 days after the official registration and carriers will be able to use the opportunity,” Russian Ministry of Transport explained.
Pobeda filed several applications for performing international flights, however, according to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) any new carrier may be cleared to perform international flights only after performing domestic flights for at least 2 years. Pobeda started its activities in December 2014.
In order to obtain permission for performing international flights the carrier asked the Ministry of Transport to make changes in the FAR.
