Turksat-4B spacecraft has been successfully placed into planned orbit

Telecommunication satellite Turksat-4B separated from Briz-M upper stage normally at a planned orbit and was placed under the customer’s control on October 17th 2015 at 08:52 Moscow time, press-service of Roscosmos reports.

Proton-M with Briz-M upper stage and Turksat-4B upper stage was launched from Baikonur cosmodrome (launch site 200) by the specialists of Russian rocket and space industry on October 16th 2015 at 23:40 Moscow time, the press-service added.

Turksat-4B is the second telecommunication satellite developed by Mitsubishi Electric (MELCO, Japan) for Turkish operator in the area of satellite communications - Turksat Satellite Communication, Cable TV and Operation A.S. The new spacecraft will assure provision of services in the area of broadcasting and broadband communications in Turkey, Europe, Central Asia, Africa and Middle East.

Roscosmos noted that it was “the fifth successful launch carried out in 2015 using Proton-M launch vehicle. The previous launch of Proton-M launch vehicle with Russian Express-AM8 satellite was carried out on September 14th 2015.
