South Korea and Russian Helicopters have extended the Ka-32 engine maintenance certificate. Prior to this, representatives from the Korean Office of Civil Aviation and HELIKOREA paid an official visit to the Aircraft Repair Facility No. 150, a part of the Russian holding.
Russian Helicopters will continue the repairs of the TV3-117 engines, VR-252 gearboxes, AI-9 APUs, and other Ka-32’s hardware for the South Korean operators. The service activities will be customer-certified under the national regulations.
Ka-32 is a general name of a medium coaxial rotor transport helicopter. It has two turboshaft engines, and non-retractable landing gear. Ka-32 is a civil version of the Ka-27PS search&rescue helicopter. Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise, a Russian Helicopters company, has been manufacturing the Ka-32 since 1985.
