Information published by Interfax about S7 Airlines asking the government to provide the state support to all Russian air carriers is not true, the airline’s press-service reports.

“S7 Airlines did not ask the government for state support,” said in the statement.

“The airline presented its vision of the industry’s development in this situation in our letter to the Air Operators Association. It is stated in the letter that the crisis affected activities of certain carriers and the problems were caused by obvious mistakes made by their management,” the press-service explained.

In general there are no reasons to believe that the situation in the industry is critical. Along with the carriers, which find themselves in a “critical” condition, other carriers are able to ensure the stable work of the industry without state support. S7 Airlines is one of them, said in the statement.

According to the airline, results for 2014 cannot be considered as a reason to ask for state support to be provided to the whole industry.
