Representatives of Tupolev Company visited one of the leading enterprises of RT-Chemcomposite Holding Company. The delegation headed by the First Deputy Director General, Sergey Bogatikov, got acquainted with the achievements of ONPP Technologiya in the area of production of large-scale composite components for aerospace industry, the holding company’s press-service reports.

The automated process for production of MS-21 (Yak-242) composite empennage (carbon fiber composites) has been demonstrated to the guests. The first tail fin box assembled by Aviastar-SP has been delivered to the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after N.E. Zhukovsky in order to carry out static tests.

«The results obtained in the network of MS-21 project demonstrate the high level of the company’s expertise in the area of knowledge-intensive production,» RT-Chemcomposite CEO, Kirill Shubskiy, said.

In the course of MS-21 project the Obninsk-based enterprise manufactured and delivered to the customer over 4000 components and fragments of the aircraft’s empennage. Tupolev is one of the Russia’s leading airframers; this makes the company one of the most important partners of RT-Chemcomposite, the holding company added.
