CEO of Transaero Airlines Olga Pleshakova ranked 1st in the rating of Russia’s top managers of the transport industry

The annual “Top-1000 leading managers of Russia – 2014” rating made by the Association of Russian Managers and Kommersant publishing house was presented on September 17th 2014. CEO of Transaero Airlines Olga Pleshakova was ranked 1st in the rating of Russia’s top managers of the transport industry, the carrier’s press-service reports.

In addition, other representatives of Transaero were also ranked high in the rating’s Transport category: Leonid Kligerman (HR), Sergei Bykhal (Public and corporate relations directors) and Roman Vdovenko (Commercial).

“The “Top-1000 leading managers of Russia – 2014” rating helps sum up the reputation of Russia’s top managers and choose the most professional ones. The goal of this rating is to evaluate the opinions of the best Russian managers about their colleagues, who demonstrated outstanding results and made significant impact on Russian economy. We sincerely congratulate Olga Aleksandrovna on her new success and we are glad that our colleagues have reaffirmed the high level of professionalism of the Transaero’s management team”, - said in the press-service’s statement.

Olga Pleshakova graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute, and holds a Ph.D. degree in Technical Sciences. She joined Transaero Airlines in 1992. On May 21st, 2001 Olga Pleshakova was appointed CEO of Transaero and became the first woman in Russia to head an airline. Under her leadership Transaero’s passenger turnover has increased 47 times, passenger traffic – 32 times. Transaero is the Russia’s second largest airline. The airline has made the list of the 10 largest airlines in Europe and top 35 carriers of the world in terms of passenger traffic. Transaero has the largest fleet of long-haul wide-body aircraft in Russia, CIS Region and Eastern Europe. The airline’s route network includes over 200 destinations in Russia, Europe, Asia, America and Africa, the press-service added.

Olga Pleshakova has been awarded with the honorary degree “The honored transport industry worker of the Russian Federation"; Order “For Honor and Valiance"; Order “Patron of Arts"; Order of Saint Olga; National Order of Merit (France); Medal “In Commemoration of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow"; St. Petersburg Governor’s Certificate of Merit; Oryol Region Governor’s Certificate of Merit and “Air Transport Expert" Award Pin and the Badge of Honor named after Grand Duchess Elizaveta Fedorovna. Olga Pleshakova has been featured in many ratings of the most influential business women. In 2012 and 2013 she was the only representative of Russian Federation to make the list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business published by Fortune magazine, Transaero added.
