Radioelectonic Technologies Concern (KRET) and the German company Rohde & Schwarz launched a joint mass production of radio-measuring devices (RMD) for radioelectronic and aerospace industries. In the network of this partnership, the final assembly of RMD was started by Frunze Nizhny Novgorod Scientific Production Association. Later the production of RMD components will be started in Russia, KRET’s press-service reports.
“The goal of partnership between KRET and Rohde & Schwarz is to establish production of competitive RMD in Russia, - CEO of KRET, Nikolay Kolesov, stated. - Development of radio-measuring devices is of great importance for our country as it is one of key factors in terms of development of the radioelectronic industry, in particular such segments as communications, navigation, television, radiolocation and consumer electronics. The contract is valued at about €5.4 million”.
A cooperation agreement between Rostec and the German company signed in 2011 was the first step in establishment of the joint venture between KRET and Rohde & Schwarz. It provides for the transfer of technology and launch of production of competitive RMD in Russia. KRET is responsible for implementation of the project. In July-August 2013 the corresponding contracts worth about €5.4 million were signed by Frunze Nizhny Novgorod Scientific Production Association and Rohde & Schwartz. Under the contracts in 2014 the required design documentation and equipment were purchased, the infrastructure was prepared, and the personnel training was carried out. In addition, all works related to preparation of the production site at the Mikhail Frunze Nizhny Novgorod Scientific Production Association were completed. The power supply systems, conditioning system, compressed air supply system, and ESD protection were installed, a date-exchange network was set up, and a complete overhaul of the buildings was carried out.

In the network of the partnership Rohde & Schwarz started deliveries of semi-knocked down kits for production of the radio-measuring devices with Russian user interface. The end product will be marked with “Made in Russia” sign. The parties have signed a memorandum of understanding in order to expand cooperation in future. KRET and Rohde & Schwarz plan to widen the nomenclature of manufactured products and launch the production of RMD components at the Frunze Nizhny Novgorod Production Association.
