An application for a letter of approval for an integrated computing system (ICS) has been submitted to the Aviation Registry of the Interstate Aviation Committee (AR IAC). It is the first solution developed by the UAC-Integration Center established in 2012. It will become a part of avionics suite for MS-21 aircraft. The IAC’s approval allows installing the system on the aircraft, UAC’s press-service reports.

«ICS is the highly integrated modular hardware and software suite assuring functionality of the aircraft’s avionics in terms of navigational information and alerts, information related to flight safety, controlling of radio equipment, maintenance and data exchange using an onboard data network. The ICS will meet the latest standards (DO-160G, DO-254, DO-178C and DO-297) and it will feature an open architecture allowing UAC-IC to upgrade it by means of replacing its components», - said in the press-service’s statement.

The following companies and organizations are taking part in development of the ICS: Moscow Institute of Electromechanics and Automatics (part of Radioelectronic technologies concern), Thales Avionics SAS (France) and Rockwell Collins, Inc. (USA).

«Successful implementation of this project will help UAC-IC reach a new level and gain valuable experience having worked its way up from the start of the project to the certification. In future it will become a major integrator of complex radio-electronic systems intended for aircraft manufactured by United Aircraft Corporation», – UAC noted.
