Aurora Airlines took delivery of Boeing 737-500 aircraft

Aurora Airlines, part of Aeroflot Group, leased another Boeing 737-500 aircraft in accordance with the carrier’s fleet renewal and expansion program, the airline’s press-service reports.

«The airliner (tail number RA-73006) painted in Aurora Airlines’ livery landed in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport on June 7th. Boeing 737-500 is the medium-haul aircraft seating 101 passengers and having a range of 3700 km. The aircraft has already been certified in Russia and foreign countries; it is fitted with state-of-the-art navigation equipment. Aurora Airlines will be operating the jet on international and regional routes», - said in the carrier’s statement.

At present Aurora Airlines operates 17 aircraft: 6 Аirbus A319s, 5 Boeing 737s and 6 Bombardier DHC-8-200/300s. The carrier plans to expand its fleet of regional airliners by means of purchasing DHC-8 Q4OO vehicles seating 76 passengers and DHC-6 Twin Otter liners seating 19 passengers, the press-service added.
