Ilyushin Company submitted an offer to Russian Ministry of Defense for development of a patrol aircraft derived from Il-114 passenger aircraft, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to the Chief Designer of Il-114, Nikolay Talikov.

"Il-114 is capable of carrying out patrol missions. First of all, it has required mission endurance (not less than 11 hours), - Talikov said. – Moreover, any required equipment may be installed on the aircraft without significant modifications".

"We have submitted our offer and now we are expecting the ministry’s decision", - Talikov added.
