The factory testing of another An-148-100E jet has been completed. It is the 22nd serial regional aircraft of the type manufactured by VASO and the third one to be delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the enterprise’s press-service reports.
«The jet (MSN 42022 and tail number RA61722) performed a total of 6 test flights; the first test flight was performed on March 18th. During these flights the functionality of navigation system, auxiliary power unit, engines, etc., has been checked», - the press-service noted.
«The flight test program was rather busy, – the head of flight test department, V.M. Karpov, said. – For example, during the first flight, which lasted over 2 hours, the aircraft’s stability and sensitivity at altitudes of 5000 and 12200 meters has been evaluated; overall aircraft performance, functionality of radio equipment, flap system, landing gear and aircraft landing system have been checked. According to the flight program the life support system used in case of decompression should also have been checked during the flight. The aircraft was fully ready for the test program that is why the testing has been successfully completed».
At present VASO is carrying out the acceptance testing of the jet, which includes ground inspections and six flights.
We remind you that in accordance with the state contract, VASO must deliver 15 short-haul An-148-100E aircraft to the Russian Ministry of Defense during 2013-2017 period. The first out of 15 aircraft was inspected by the Minister of Defense, Sergey Shoygu, on November 8th 2013; a month later the minister, top-management of VASO and president of United Aircraft Corporation, Mikhail Pogosyan, took part in the official handover ceremony, the press-service added.
