The accuracy characteristics of Su-24M aircraft have been improved three-fold by means of fitting it with advanced Gefest computer subsystems (SVP-24), ITAR-TASS reports with reference to press-service of the Central Military District.

Thanks to Gefest system the annual operating costs have been decreased by 15%. The pilots have assessed the performance of SVP-24 in different climatic zones, under severe weather conditions and low visibility conditions.

Gefest was put into service a year ago. During this period of time the pilots managed to master the free maneuver bombing without entering the engagement area of enemy air defense systems. The hitting accuracy has almost reached the level of guided weapons, - the press-service explained. – SVP-24 comprises targeting, navigation and control devices, which enhance the capabilities of the crew in terms of target detection, target approach, targeting and attacking the target. The system also improves the jet’s survivability".
