Obninsk Research and Production Enterprise Technologiya (Kaluga Region), part of Rostec State Corporation, will launch serial production of components for MS-21 in 2017, Interfax reports with reference to the Chief Industrial Engineer of NPK Kompozit (part of ORPE Technologiya), Nikolay Vimorokov.

According to him, the enterprise is manufacturing test composite components of the advanced Russian jet’s skin and engines. The airliner’s maiden flight is scheduled for 2015.

"We are the main contractor in terms of developing a technology for production of MS-21’s wing box, fin and stabilizer. We are also developing a technology for production of panels of the engine’s core and thrust reverser", - N. Vimorokov noted.
