Aeroflot took delivery of another Airbus А320 aircraft fitted with Sharklet wing tip devices, the carrier’s press-service reports.
The handover ceremony was held at Airbus facility in Toulouse, France. The liner was named after outstanding Soviet and Russian surgeon, public man, Doctor of Medicine, Petrovsky Boris Vasilyevich, Aeroflot noted.
"Sharklets improve the jet’s aerodynamics and offer operators up to four percent fuel burn reduction on longer range sectors. They are made from light-weight composites and are 2.4 meters tall. All the А320 Family aircraft are delivered to Aeroflot directly from the Airbus facilities. The jet is powered by CFM56 engines and features a two-class cabin layout seating 158 passengers: 8 seats in business class and 150 seats in the economy class. Aeroflot operates А320 Family aircraft on European and Russian destinations. Aeroflot is among the world’s leading companies in terms of service reliability and the actual time in the air per aircraft", - the airline added.
The Airbus А320 Family jets are among the best medium-haul liners in the world; they meet the highest international standards in the area of flight safety, reliability and comfort. At present Aeroflot’s fleet comprises 94 А319/320/321 aircraft. The average age of these jets is 5 years, Aeroflot noted.
