Irkut Corporation will deliver 12 upgraded Su-30K fighters to Angola and plans to sign another contract for delivery of six more jets of the type soon. Eighteen Su-30K fighters have been previously operated by India, Interfax reports with reference to the president of Irkut Corporation, Oleg Demchenko.
"We have signed the contract for delivery of 12 jets to Angola instead of 18 ones. The deliveries will be started in 2015", - he noted.
Speaking about the rest six Su-30K jets, which are being upgraded by the Baranovichi-based aircraft repair plant (Belarus), Demchenko said that these vehicles will be delivered to another country.
"There is a country interested in purchasing these aircraft", - president of Irkut Corporation said. He declined to name the country.
