Novosibirsk aviation plant named after Chkalov (part of Sukhoi Holding Company) fulfilled the state defense order for 2014 ahead of schedule, TASS reports with reference to the governor of Novosibirsk Region, Vladimir Gorodetski.

“Last week Novosibirsk aviation plant named after Chkalov fulfilled the state defense order for production of Su-34 bombers ahead of schedule. 16 jets have already been delivered to the military units; two more bombers of the type will be delivered to the customer in two weeks. This is our contribution to the country’s defense capabilities,” Gorodetski said.

CEO of the enterprise, Sergey Smirnov, said earlier that the plant would deliver 18 jets of the type to Russian air forces in 2014 – two more ones than planned in the network of the state defense order.
